Tuesday - Saturday, June through October: 9 am - 5 pm volunteers are needed to paint with the A Brush With Kindness program to paint in Astoria, White and Brookings area. Sunday, August 22: Lucky Duck Pluck. 3 to 6 pm at the Brookings Aquatic Center.

Want to help local families AND have a chance at $1000? Check out this event!
During the 2010 Lucky Duck Pluck, rubber ducks, each with a number, will be released into the swimming pool. As ducks are 'plucked,' the ticket holder with the matching number wins a prize! Prizes include the $1000 grand prize and many additional prizes.
The day's events includes live music by Sonic Screwdriver and a mini duck-pluck for the kids. There isn't an admission fee for the event.
Tickets are $10 for one duck, $50 for a "six-quack", and $200 for a flock of 25. Tickets may be purchased at the ReStore, all Brookings banks, Wildfire Cheer members or the Habitat office. Proceeds will help build a Habitat home in Brookings.
In case of thunderstorms, an alternate location will be announced. Need not be present to win.

Sunday, September 12: The Thrivent build dedication of the Klingbile home will be held at 6 pm. Please join them, Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in celebrating the completion of home #41, located in Camelot Square (corner Christine Avenue and 15th Street South).
